Well, that was unexpected

We are NOT doing our flea market fundraiser today.

Last night, I walked into the garage (on my crutches) to see if I could use a piece of wood as a sign. As I turned around to head back into the house, I heard a rustle next to me. I think it was a mouse. It could have been my imagination. I have no idea.

Whatever it was, I jumped. Just a little, but enough to throw my right crutch out a bit. When I took my next step, my crutch wasn't in the right place, so I fell forward. Right onto my nearly-healed broken foot.
I heard a little crunch, dropped to my knees, hit my head, and started sobbing, because I knew immediately that the bone is no longer "nearly healed."

Tomorrow I will go back to the bone doctor to see what a new X-ray shows.
(I didn't go last night; there was no point, as the ER will only offer medicine that I can't take, and crutches, which I already have.)
I put the air cast back on and am now just trying to tell myself that it'll all be okay.

Right now, every thought of the problems this now causes is playing through my mind.

I wish I could hide behind the sadness and have cheery, positive messages to say, "I know it will be fine."
Today, though, I'm not feelin' it.

(Has anyone seen the movie Frozen? I just watched that a few nights ago... if you've seen it, you'll understand  when I say that the one thing that ran through my head when I was laying on the floor was "Wow, this could be a whole lot worse.")

And that's that.

Sarah, you are doing God's will.....and someone does not like it one bit! I'm sure Satan is behind your latest fall. Don't let him take any joy from you as you work hard to bring your sweet daughter home. I know that's easy for me to say since I am not the one with the broken foot. Just know that we all are praying for you and love you too!

Amy said exactly what I was thinking! I'm looking on Netflix for the movie Frozen and there are several - who is in the one you saw or what are some plot points that will help me find the right one?

Ugh, I'm so sorry!! I've noticed as things get headed in a good direction (adoption-wise), satan throws in many monkey wrenches. I try to see it as a compliment, because he is threatened, and that means we are doing God's work, but it's so discouraging! Hang in there!

Kelly- Have you seen Open Water? Frozen has a similar premise, except this time it's a ski resort that leaves them behind. I'm not necessarily recommending it... my husband hated it and yelled at me the whole time because I was the one who insisted he watch it (it was too stressful for him!)... but I personally liked the "what would you do" aspect of it. It's definitely on Netflix... look for the one that looks like skiers on a ski lift.
