The goal is to raise our immediate fees needed for our agency plus additional paperwork. (See sidebar for totals needed.)
In order to get there, this auction is gonna have to spread like wildfire.... so here it is, the most original, awesome auction ever :)

Here's how it works:
I'm going to post something up for grabs for just $1.
The first person to claim the item (under comments) wins the item, BUT they also have to offer something for the next amount ($2.)
Someone else can then comment to claim the $2 item, but THEY must then offer something up for $3.
It keeps going as long as we keep having fun!
In order to win, you have to be the first to comment, as well as have your item claimed by someone.
CONFUSED? Here's an example:
Example: THE $1 ITEM IS A $5 STARBUCKS GIFTCARD. LET THE WILDFIRE BEGIN!
Jenni comments: "SOLD for $1 AND a Lia Sophia Necklace!"
THE $2 ITEM IS A LIA SOPHIA NECKLACE.
Bree is the first to comment: "SOLD for $2 plus a pack of Huggies diapers"
THE $3 ITEM IS A PACK OF HUGGIES DIAPERS.
Tammi comments: "SOLD for $3 and a $25 gift card to my Ooga Booga Etsy Shop"
THE $4 ITEM IS A $25 OOGA BOOGA ETSY GIFT CARD.
So, Jenni wins the Starbucks card, Bree wins the necklace, Tammi wins the diapers, and the next person to comment wins the Ooga Booga card. Easy enough, right?
Q&A
What happens if more than one person bid for the same item? The item goes to the first bidder (in other words, the first comment that appears as a response.
Who pays for shipping? Assume that if you bid on (and win) the item, you will pay the shipper to send it to you. I will be contacting each seller/bidder in order to put you in touch with one another so that you can work it out together. Obviously smaller/lighter items are going to cost less to ship, so keep this in mind when offering items up for grabs as well as when placing a bid. (Of course, the person who offers the item up for grabs is always welcome to pay the shipping him/herself. That would be nice, too!) Hopefully, no matter what price you pay, you are getting a great deal, so having to spend on shipping will still be worth your while!
When and whom do I pay? Once you know that you have won an item, please email me (with the item you won in the subject line. Once the auction has completely come to an end, I will contact all the winners with payment information (the options will be paypal, chipin, or personal check.) PLEASE DO NOT PAY IMMEDIATELY UPON WINNING. Wait for me to contact you so that there is no confusion!
When does it end? The wildfire auction ends once the fire stops spreading! Our goal is to have at least 63 bids. This will cover our agency fees. Anything beyond that will pay other upfront expenses (ordering extra copies of birth certificates, etc.)
Can I win more than once? Of course! Just remember that everytime you comment, you need to offer something up for grabs. I will be moderating from home, and as soon as I receive a "winning" comment I will list the next item available. Feel free to comment and win as many times as you'd like, as long as you have something new to offer each time.
What should I offer? Giftcards, garage sale wares, jewelry, collectibles, crafts.... just about anything that people would like! It can be new or used, packaged or open. It just has to be 1) legal; 2) shippable; and 3) desirable. The value doesn't matter so much as long as it's a good offer (so that people want it.)
What happens if no one is bidding on my offer? If a long period of time passes and no one has placed a bid on your item, you have two options. 1) Retract your bid, and the item you had won again becomes available; or 2) Change your offer to see if it gets a bid instead.
What if I can't comment? Contact me immediately! I will have comment moderation off, but if for some reason my blog is blocking your comments, please let me know.

When the $1 item is won, will people bid under the same post to buy the $2 item and keep doing it all on one post? Or will you create a new post for each item?
Good question, Kelly! Everything will be one post, so comments will altogether. That's why it is important to write the dollar amount in the bid. :)
